Break makes life better for children and young people on the edge of care, in care and leaving care.

Working across East Anglia, the charity firmly believes that every child, no matter their start in life, deserves a bright future. Starting by building and earning trust, and then providing opportunities for young people to engage with, Break’s aim is to walk with those they support every step of the way to independence. And the support doesn’t stop there, a lifelong offer means the charity is there whenever and wherever they’re needed.

Volunteering

As a volunteer you can make a huge impact in the lives of vulnerable children and young adults across our region. Break already has a great team of volunteers but we’re always on the lookout for more.

Becoming a volunteer with Break can be an incredibly rewarding experience, whether it's an ongoing commitment, occasional or a one-off. Complete the Break Volunteer Interest Form and a member of the team will be in touch soon.

Fundraising volunteering
Whether its serving refreshments at a fun run, or providing help and directions at one of our world class art trails there’s plenty to do and a lot of fun to be had with a real sense of achievement. This is a great way to participate if you'd rather not undertake the actual event yourself!

Volunteer mentoring
Becoming a volunteer mentor is a great opportunity to provide regular time to supporting and encouraging a vulnerable young person through casual activities such as going out for lunch or walks; helping young people access local community activities; or providing support with finding employment or educational opportunities.

Shop volunteering
We’re really proud of our shops for the role they play in our communities and helping us raise vital money to support young people. We have volunteer roles in every shop so if you’re interested in finding out more, take a look at our shops page. This would suit someone who is looking for a regular volunteering commitment.

Team based volunteering
Very occasionally we’re asked about hosting a team based event for a group of friends or work colleagues to use as a team building exercise. We don’t have these opportunities available all the time but it’s always worth contacting us to see what we need a little help with. We would be happy to work with you to develop an activity that meets your needs and help us too! This would suit a group looking for a one-off volunteering commitment.
