Work with baby monkeys, experience wildlife sanctuary life, animal friendly meals, meet great people and lifelong friends, 1 hour from Kruger National Park.
November to January is orphan baby season at the Vervet Monkey foundation and volunteers are needed to help teach baby monkeys the first steps in life (how to feed from a bottle, climb and be a monkey) and introduce them to monkey mothers.
Although you will spend a lot of time helping with the orphaned monkeys that have come in due to motor vehicle accidents, shooting incidents or confiscations, time will also be spent in maintaining a wildlife sanctuary
All training will be provided on monitoring animals in enclosures, preparing food and feeding including bottle-feeding babies, and general primate husbandry.
Sundays and Mondays October to February
The fee includes vegan meals, shared wooden cabin accommodation and laundry.
Adults of both sexes 18+ dedicated animal lovers who don’t mind waking up throughout the night to take care of the orphans and making sure they are well cared for with the reward of seeing these youngster getting a 2nd chance with a monkey mom.
