LIDEMA is a network of institutions dedicated to promoting the sustainable development of the country, based on policies to change the unsustainable modalities of production, consumption and distribution.

Therefore, it directs its actions towards the sustainable use of natural resources, to influence public policies and laws, at the municipal, departmental and national levels, from the perspective of sustainable development, formulating proposals based on its national institutional experience, and in the permanent analysis of how the socio-environmental situation is affected by national and international social and economic processes.

LIDEMA is committed to being the most important interlocutor between the State and civil society, in matters of sustainable development, thanks to the technical and scientific capacity acquired by its member institutions. It reaffirms its role as a generator, promoter and disseminator of new ideas and proposals, based on its long history and institutional experience, at the local, departmental and national levels.
