The Global Work & Travel Co. Reviews

What a Time

Global Work and Travel were helpful starting out as an Au Pair but when I got to America I didn't hear from them much but seeing as I was placed through another company (Au Pair Care) I didn't mind so much as Au Pair Care have been amazing. I feel if I knew that they went through another company I wouldn't have used Global Work and Travel. They also glammed up Au Pairing a lot more than needed which lead to some disappointment. All and all though they got me here I and I'm loving my time in America, so I do owe them a thank you.

Amazing

An amazing company that is very organised and on top of everything, always there if you need anything or have any queries. The friendly staff and easy to navigate website is a welcome. Would recommend Global Work & Travel and I would use them again.

Less stress

The Global Work and Travel Company made my trip away much less stressful than if I had of gone by myself. I knew I wanted to travel but I didn’t know how to start so I e-mailed Global Work and Travel and they helped me along the way. Their staff were so helpful with organising things that I would of never thought of when travelling and working in a new country. They were quick to get back to emails and always easy to contact if need be. I’m now still in my current first job they helped me get and having the time of my life away from home.

Au Pair Journey

I'm currently Au Pairing in America through Global Work and Travel Co and they have been nothing but great. When I first joined they gave me a direct contact, named Sarah, and she constantly kept me up to date with emails, and answered every question I asked her about the program. She would always reply straight away or as soon as she could so that I was able to move forward with all my paperwork and visa information.

The company was really helpful and booked all flights and made the process of moving overseas for a year so much less stressful. Even though Sarah is no longer my contact (my au pair agency is instead) Sarah still emails to ask and see how the trip going. They have been really helpful and I would recommend the American Au Pair Program with them to everyone I know.

If you are applying from Australia the only downside is the only office they have in Australia is in the Gold Coast, so if you live outside there (I live outside of Melbourne) you have to be prepared to travel to the office on your own money for an official interview before you go into the au pair match process. The office is located right in the city close so wasn't hard to get to once I was there. They were lovely and on time and made sure all my needs were met.

Waste of money

They were helpful when I was in Australia. Made me feel excited for the opportunity. Completely ripped me off with flights. Made me feel pressured to buy open flights that cost hundreds more then usual. When I got to Banff where I still live I didn’t like the job they got me and they did nothing to help me find new employment. You can very easily plan this trip by yourself.

Go your own way

While I was preparing to leave Aus and when I first arrived in Canada they were helpful with visa questions and helping me find a job etc. But other than that there was no real need to spend all that money for the little assistance I received. They often recommended the most expensive options (flights, travel insurance) which is nice if you have the funds but if you do a little searching of your own you will find the same options only much cheaper... it might seem necessary to have them there in the off chance you'll need them, but in reality it's pretty easy to handle most things on your own.

The good old global work and travel experience!

Hey guys!
If you are new to travelling as I was when I left Australia for the first time then global may be for you!
I am very new to travelling myself... This was my first trip abroad as I have never left my country before uprooting my life and moving to Canada 🍁 this was the best idea I'd had for a while now don't get me wrong it's not an easy decision on the best of days and if like me you have no idea how to do it you would need a a strong team to get you there!! Now in saying that after going through every aspect possible doing research on what company would be able to carry me through the experience I came across global who seemed pretty legit but you never know haha! They were definitely legit and so started the trip organisation.
They help you with Hey guys!

They help you with flights, your first stay in the foreign country, they do help with where and how to fill out your visa application but you do still have to do the filling out and application yourself due to it being a government document, they will help you create a new resume and find a job! If for some reason the job ends up not being for you then they will help you find a new job patience is going to be needed as it's not a two second test to find a new job.
The best part of global is they are with you for the whole two years they check in on you and make sure all is well! They also will help you if you need to find transport or a place to stay!

So in short I would recommend these guys if you need the guidance and support for what can be pretty stressful on your own!

Hope this helps guys!

Just Do it!

If you’re wanting to travel to Canada, I highly recommend it! Global work are an awesome company especially if you travel by yourself. My guide will randomly email me for a catch up email, and I think that’s fantastic. I’ve only been in Canada for 3 months and I’m receiving job notifications for the next winter. You have to get in quick. Fantastic.

Happy traveler!

I’m currently in Australia on a working holiday through the Global work & travel co.! My experience thus far has been nothing short of amazing. Global really helped me get over here, without them I’m not sure if I would have made the move. They found me quality employment, picked me up from the airport, accommodated me until I found an apartment and much more. They were also reaching out asking how I was going, especially at the start. They definitely helped me start my working holiday and I recommend them to anyone looking to do a working holiday to aus!

Global made things easy!

Global made things so easy for me to start my aupair trip in England. My trip coordinator Sara was great and I still get emails from her checking in with me 10 months into my trip. Only negative would be the price however overall I’ve had a great experience with global and would recommend to a friend!

Au Pair in Canada

My trip with Global Work & Travel has been incredible. I am currently on a 2 year working visa in Canada and I’ve been fortunate enough to experience many of the wonderful things beautiful British Columbia has to offer - from skiing up on the famous Whistler resort, to snowshoeing up Grouse Mountain and whale watching in Victoria. The agency has an office located in Vancouver which is super handy for any work related advice or tips on what to do and see in the area. I would recommend Global Work & Travel without hesitation.

Aupair

Hiya! My aupair experience has been a real life changer. Since arriving in the USA in January 2017 i have been with three different families, visited around 11 states and meet people from all over the world.
I have learnt so much from this experience and I would recommend it for everyone! At first it is challenging learning the ropes and putting your self out there but once you have settled in its a real blast. It took me a good three months to settle in.
Global work and travel helped me with any questions and Sarah back in Australia still messages me from time to time to see how it is all going.

Volunteer Program 2014

In 2014 I used global work and travel to go on a volunteer trip to South Africa.
Reminders about travel documents and to get my vaccines were good.
I booked my own flights because I was able to find a better deal than what they quoted me.
When I arrived I found out by the sign our driver was holding that the company I was actually dealing with was called African Impact and that Global work and travel was basically a travel agent who booked me with them.
I had to research and figure out my vaccines as well as my visa information. I felt as though they didn't prepare me for much just connected me with a good program and handled the money.
Not a bad experience but I could have saved money by directly booking with African Impact.
Recommended if you want them to buy your flights and handle everything for you. But if you are a fairly independent person you can do it on your own
I recommend African Impact (the company the volunteer trip was with) 10000%.

Awesome, best company!

I've been in Canada for 7 months now, living, working and hiking the Rocky Mountains, swimming in Glacier fed lakes and now snowboarding every day I can. All of this is possible because of Global. I've met so many amazing people along my journey, they've helped me every step of the way, whenever I want another job, they make it happen with whatever preferences I have, they have been so good to me. Without Global, this wouldn't have been possible.
This company is by far the best Travel company out there, guaranteed! I'm not only living and working in Canada but I'm pursuing my dreams in expanding my photography and exploring this beautiful country.
If you want to follow my journey and need some more reassuring about this company, follow me on Instagram and look for yourself.

Global Work & Travel Co

Here’s the thing, many people are of course extremely conscious of paying money to a company that you aren’t entirely sure of, especially when you could probably do most of it yourself. BUT I chose GW&Tc because travelling overseas to a foreign land is no small feat and you want to be ensured that you have the right kind of support where ever and when ever you require it.

I am currently living and working in Canada with a group of 4. All of which we applied for this process together through Global Work and Travel, so for me to say that I have witnessed their amazing work for just me, is a lie - they are constantly checking in on ALL of us and ensuring that the travel/ job opportunities we receive are appropriate for our group and situation. Their approachable positive aptitude has been a blessing to us in what can be a stressful time - particular applying for international Visa’s, flights, travel insurance and everything else that goes with that. Their HQ meetings and Skype dates are extremely accessible and offer the peace of mind you need in planning your trips!

In conclusion, if you are seeking an adventure abroad I would recommend Global Work and Travel co to any of you whom wish to change your life!

High risk, high reward. Great investment for your future.

My experience with Global Work and Travel has been excellent. I was skeptical when I first signed up with the company but I'm glad I did because its one of the best decisions I've ever made in my life!

I've always wanted to do a working holiday in Australia. My travel coordinator (Chloe) is such a great agent and I was able to stay on top of the requirements and prepare for my travels stress free as she was there every step of the way. I quit my job, sold my car and left my hometown to discover new territories and meet people from all over the world. I do not regret my decision at all and now I live on an island and enjoying the tropical weather.

I higly recommend anyone who is unsure what to do when it comes to (long-term) traveling. The GWT team is gladly there to assist you. This is definitely a great investment for onesself. This cultural exchange is something I couldn't find in university. There's so much to learn from meeting unique individuals and these memories I forever cherish. Thanks Global Work and Travel!

Ups and Downs

I signed up with Global Work & Travel for an Au Pair programme in France. I have had one of the best experiences of my life, and have done things I had always dreamed about but never really thought would actually happen. The company has both its positives and negatives.

It is true that they do take away a lot of the stress for you, they explain how to get your visa and that was a big help, before arriving it is probably the hardest part of the whole experience. Finding a family is made easy, they even provide questions to ask the family during interviews and do a good job of explaining how the whole process will work. They put you in touch with other travellers who will be in the same area as you as well as put you in touch with their Au Pair partner in France.

The company's partner in France is absolutely fantastic! They really have a great team and a very good at problem solving and very understanding when you have issues. I can safely say they helped me and supported me a whole lot more than Global Work and Travel did. They are called Europair services and if you want to be an Au pair in France get in touch with them ASAP.

I can't say I regret my choice to go through Global Work and Travel, but now that I have moved abroad and had this experience I would probably choose to go down a different pathway.

Their fees are quite high, this is true, especially when compared to other companies offering the same services. They didn't tell me that there were further processes to go through with my visa when I arrived in France, which I would have liked to know before hand. Nor did they explain social security to me or what my working rights really were. They also assign travellers a "travel consultant" who were typically difficult to get a hold of, didn't respond to emails and I think my consultant changed at least 4 times before I actually even left for France. As other people have said, they suggest you take flight which are much more expensive then need be, you can certainly find cheaper by yourself.

In terms of actually being an Au pair I feel that the company doesn't give you much information on what it will actually be like; obviously they are selling a service so perhaps they don't want to discuss some of the negatives but as much as I enjoyed my experience there are a lot of things I wished I knew beforehand.

The company does also offer you 5 free nights accommodation in a selection of locations. I have yet to use mine yet but it is handy and given the price of the programme travellers deserve them. Although you do have to give the company quite a lot of notice before using them, often as an Au pair you don't always know when you will have holidays much time in advance. I wouldn't tell people not to use Global Work and Travel, if this is the first time you are doing something like this, I would say "why not?" but maybe have a look at other companies and alternative options (cheaper ones) and make sure to do your research!

Go for it

I went over with global work and travel co. They were fairly helpful while I was in Australia, only thing would be that they ripped me off with my flights as I could get cheaper else where but they advised that if I got my own flights no one would pick me up from the airport so I booked with them for like $700 more than a normal flight and no one picked me up anyway. They weren’t very helpful in the UK so I had to spend most my money on hostels for two weeks and don’t find you placements within central London so you have to live hours out. They were helpful I would recommend them but you can easily do it on your own and save a hell of a lot of money.

My trip with Global Work and Travel has been amazing! The support from them is great and always constant. I am currently doing a 2 year Working Holiday in Canada and it is incredible. They have been helping with everything job related. They have an office located in Vancouver which is a central point on my trip. Would recommend them to anyone!

Unique

I did the Au Pair in America program through Global Work & Travel & words don’t do justice on the experience that I had with them. From their amazing help of answering any questions I had before I left to giving me real life advice that helped before I left. Also while on the program they helped with any problem I had there & answered any questions about future programs I might want to take. The whole company is quite unique & I wouldn’t use any other company.

Comfortable

The global work and travel co experience for me was one of a kind. I was well looked after, received top quality employment options and had some amazing adventures. Having a dedicated trip coordinator is what stood out for me and it makes a big difference because it felt like a friend was helping me out and not just some big corporation. Would recommend to anyone interested in a work and travel holiday to the UK!
