Sustrans is committed to reducing inequality, valuing diversity, enabling inclusion, and ensuring all people are treated with dignity and respect. We believe that these are essential attributes of any charity that seeks to promote valuable and lasting change in our society.

Our culture actively values difference and recognises that people from different backgrounds and experiences bring valuable insights to the workplace and enhance the way we work.

The impact we have would not be possible without the support and ongoing commitment of our volunteers working tirelessly across the UK.

Volunteer with Sustrans

We have fantastic volunteers across the UK who are making a real difference in their local area. We'd love you to join us.

Our volunteers are what make Sustrans special.
From sprucing up the National Cycle Network to empowering people to walk and cycle, improving wildlife along our greenways or inspiring young people in schools to get active. Our volunteers are helping to create a better environment for us all. Whether you've got a few hours to spare one weekend or you're looking to give your time on a regular basis, we've got loads of opportunities for you to get involved.

Volunteer on the National Cycle Network
Want to help look after the National Cycle Network? Whether you've got a few hours to spare, or want something more regular, join our volunteers making the Network safe for everyone to enjoy.

Volunteer in your community
Get stuck in with our volunteers who are helping us to make it easier for people to walk and cycle in their local communities. Host events, lead rides, run a social walk, or help teach young people how to ride a bike safely.

Volunteer to protect your local wildlife
Give a little bit of time to help to monitor and improve our greenways for plants and protect the local wildlife calling the National Cycle Network home.
