MCE  has been also established to give people the opportunity to work on community initiated projects in developing countries, volunteers work in Agriculture, Health, Education, Environment and Business development.

Our vision at MCE is to ensure quality of life for the orphaned and the less fortunate children in Tanzanian society.

The objectives of the center are to:

1. provide care and guidance to the children
2. provide quality education
3. establish a home where children are safe and feel secure
4. network with other organizations to support each other in the effort
5. raise public awareness about the plight of orphaned children
6. advocate for the rights of children.

VOLUNTEER
Our volunteer program was established in 2012. Volunteers are highly appreciated for their unwavering support and the hope they generate in the children and the Centre during their time with us. Volunteer efforts directly empowered and encouraged our children to understand that they are special and can be successful. The hardest part for both parties is to say “goodbye!” at the end of the program.

The volunteer’s goal is to make the effort to touch a child in the most important ways through loving, caring, encouraging freedom of expression, enhancing a sense of each other, and teaching the children, the caretakers and the teachers, while respecting the culture and working with the resources available here. Each volunteer brings unique skills that contribute meaningfully to the positive experience of our children, staff, supporters and other volunteers. Henry and Dorice family and MCE would like to invite you to experience this rewarding journey.

If you would like to volunteer, let us know your areas of interest and we will do our best to accommodate you and make your stay a memorable one. Some of the things volunteers do include…

– Help children practice their English. Our schools teach all subjects in English.
– Assist students in the classroom and after school with their assignments.
– Arrange fun activities including: riding bikes, cooking classes, hikes and games every weekend.
– Sponsor and plan field trips, with the help of Centre management
– Assist with health care, mini-checkups, height/weight charting and going to hospital.
– Clean and repair the children’s surroundings, clothing, shoes, etc.
