Working both at home and abroad through over 350 projects, we provide medical care, strengthen health systems and address underlying barriers to healthcare.

UK Volunteer Roles

  • Student Placement
  • Caseworker
  • Clinic Support Worker
  • Social Media Officer

In the UK, Doctors of the World provides acute medical care and advocacy from our clinic in East London, our mobile outreach services and remotely via our advice line and casework services.

Our work would simply not be possible without our amazing volunteers; our support workers, caseworkers and clinician volunteers provide a highly empathetic and practical service to our patients, supported by Doctors of the World staff.

Our committed, enthusiastic and impactful team is always looking to for new volunteers to join us. Our volunteers come from all walks of life. If you are welcoming, passionate about upholding rights to healthcare, enjoy challenges and working in a team, then consider joining us! We encourage people from all over the UK to apply.

You are welcome to volunteer with us in our clinic or from home, to suit your needs. We ask for a minimum time commitment, and that all volunteers are based in the UK. We provide full training and support and can reimburse your travel and lunch expenses if you travel within London to volunteer with us in our clinic.

Those with lived experience of migration, the asylum system, homelessness or exclusion from health services are encouraged to apply.

Applicants will be shortlisted and notified weekly. Interviews will be held on a rolling basis. Applications that do not include both CV and Application form will not be considered. All applicants must be based in the UK.
