The Republic of Yemen, is a country located in the southern end of the Arabian Peninsula in Western Asia. It is the second-largest Arab sovereign state in the peninsula, occupying 527,970 square kilometres. Yemen is one of the poorest countries in the world and international assistance is needed all year round.
Yemen is a very dangerous country at the moment and just visiting the country can be risky. Volunteers are recruited by large international humanitarian and aid organisations to help improve the situation on the ground helping education, healthcare and infrastructure.
