In Ghana infrastructure is not as advances as in Western countries especially in rural areas and a lot of people are in need of medical assistance. International volunteering organisations and local NGO's are working in Ghana to help communities and people affected by poverty. If you apply to volunteer in Ghana you will need to pay an application fee, this will cover your accommodation, transport, meals and also a donation to projects to keep them running throughout the year.
As a medical volunteer you will play a key role in working alongside local staff like doctors and nurses in hospitals, clinics and community outreach programs.
