This program’s mission is to care for the orphaned, abandoned and impoverished children of Eastern Uganda. This is one of the largest children’s home that Love Volunteers places volunteers at, and is in fact a children’s home, primary school, secondary school, special needs unit, vocational school and clinic all in one. The facility was established and is run by a wonderful Dutch couple to meet the desperate needs of the local community. The children’s home caters to 200 children aged from 4 weeks to 16 years. The schools cater to the orphans and also the local community. The children’s home is run under religious beliefs and although the facility does not require volunteers to hold the same religious values, they do require volunteers to be courteous of their beliefs. Volunteers play a major role in this facility, helping to care for the children across all aspects and assisting with the running of the organization.

Goals of this Project:

  • Provide essential care to the vulnerable children of Eastern Uganda
  • Improve the future prospects of orphaned children in Eastern Uganda
  • Give impoverished children quality care, compassion and a sense of hope
  • Enable inter-cultural exchange which benefits both locals and international volunteers alike.
