Itinerary
Day 1 Olbia
Prepare to skim across some of the bluest waters on earth over the next eight days. After meeting the skipper, drive to the small town of Portisco, board the yacht and set sail to Caprera Island. Swim or snorkel in the pristine water among rocky coves.
Day 2 Costa Smeralda
With a name that translates to Emerald Coast, this stretch of white sandy beach and emerald-green water is a playground for the rich and famous, the starlets and the starry-eyed. If celebrity spotting takes your fancy, pull up a stool in one of the many hotel bars, order a drink, and keep your eyes open. Or head down to the beach and soak up some Vitamin D for a few hours.
Day 3 Maddalena Archipelago - Isola Caprera
Set sail towards the coves of Caprera Island, drop anchor and enjoy a swim. This wild island, criss-crossed with walking and cycling trails, is home to royal seagulls, peregrine falcons and wild goats, making it an ideal spot for bird watching (and goat-spotting!).
Day 4-5 Bonifacio (Corsica)
Cross the strait to the ancient fortified city of Bonifacio. Wander the winding streets and narrow lane ways of the citadel, admiring the precariously perched buildings on cliff tops, before making your way back to the busy marina. Tonight, have dinner in a traditional restaurant in the Old Town, perhaps enjoying a glass or two of local wine. Spend a free day exploring at your own pace, perhaps taking in more of the citadel, sampling local delicacies with a charcuterie at a restaurant, admiring the views from the King Aragon Steps or finding a quiet spot on a secluded beach for a swim.
Day 6-7 Isola Lavezzi & Maddalena Archipelago (Isola Spargi, Isola Santo Stefano & Isola Caprera)
Head towards the Maddalena Archipelago, coasting across crystal clear water towards the remote islands of Lavezzi, Spargi and Santo Stefano. Imagine the clearest, most beautiful water you can - and then still be astonished by how clear and blue it is when you see it up close. There are plenty of opportunities for swimming and snorkelling today, or head ashore for a nature walk. The next day, visit the lively town of Maddalena, filled with little boutiques, cafes, restaurants and bars. Enjoy a free day to explore the city on foot, or hire a bike and see the island from two wheels.
Day 8 Olbia
Rise early for the sail back to the mainland. Your Italian sailing adventure will end in Olbia.
