HAS has an extensive community health department including four community health centers and 49 community health workers. This infrastructure enables HAS to bring quality primary health care closer to those people living in remote and often mountainous areas, who would otherwise not be able to access needed services.

Every day, we provide health, hope and opportunity to the people we serve. Help us restore, rebuild and reimagine a new Haiti.

Volunteer

Share your skills and learn about healthcare delivery in a developing country.

HAS currently operates with an almost entirely full Haitian medical staff of doctors and nurses, but relies on volunteers to bolster our provision of care during times when our staff members are unavailable, or to supplement our care with specialized physicians.

The support of volunteers allows us to provide care to an even greater number of people, and serves as a rewarding experience for both the volunteer and for our medical staff.

Qualifications:

  • Be a fully licensed physician or medical professional.
  • Be interested in forming a long-term relationship with HAS (i.e., an interest in returning yearly to HAS)
  • Be available to volunteer initially for at least two weeks, in the case of surgeons or OB/GYNs, or four weeks for all other volunteers.
