The Coral Divers Career Development Course is a fantastic experience of a little known area of Southern Africa - the marine  reserve of Sodwana Bay National Park. This flexible gap year programme allows candidates to leave between phases and rejoin with the next intake. There are five phases:- Start on the Introductory Phase and work your way through to the PADI Openwater Instructor Experience Phase. The programme can also be approached as a whole or customised to suit your requirements. We produce experienced instructors who have a complete understanding of the dive industry and our responsibility to marine conservation.

Not only do you get your PADI certifications, but you will learn the ins and outs of successful dive centre operation, equipment maintenance and repair, operation and maintenance of dive boats and compressors (Air & Nitrox), emergency management, oxygen provision, marine injuries and most importantly, marine conservation.

Not every aspect is wrapped up in a course, but as we are a PADI 5 Star IDC Resort it all happens here, if you want to be involved then it’s available. The more time you put into the program the more you learn. You will be based at South Africa’s best reefs and the CDC allows you to experience life at the epicentre of the dive industry in this incredible country. We dive 364 days a year and train more students than anyone else in South Africa, so there is no better location to develop your scuba diving or marine conservation career!

Coral Divers is located in a National Park adjacent to a Marine Reserve. Not only is the diving at Sodwana Bay is truly world class, with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean providing the perfect setting for sightings that include Whale Sharks, Ragged-Tooth sharks, Black and White Tip sharks, rays (Manta, Devil and Eagle), turtles, dolphins, marlin and even the opportunity to see Humpback Whales on their migration, but being situated really near to some of South Africa's other well-known national parks, you will be able to visit these parks and see the famous Big 5!

With unlimited diving you’ll probably get the chance to encounter most of these amazing creatures, as candidates usually log 400+ dives in the year. Don't miss this opportunity and make sure you have a place on the next 'intake' in November 2017!
