1. Governors Ball, New York

  • June 1-3

Located in the centre of the ‘Big Apple’, the Governors Ball in New York is one of the top contemporary urban music festivals in the world. Look out for headliners this year such as Jack White, Travis Scott and N.E.R.D - with plenty of other big names set to play over the weekend. FYI if you are visiting, you have to go to The Nugget Spot – it’s the best place for fried chicken on site.

 

2. Download Festival, UK

  • June 8-10

Download festival is a mammouth rock music event, set in Donington Park, Leicestershire. With three days of heavy rock and metal music, set across five stages, this iconic UK rock event will be a highlight for many fans in the UK and beyond. With Avenged Sevenfold, Guns n’ Roses and Ozzy Osborne as this year’s headliners, it is no wonder it’s so popular.

 

3. Hideout Festival, Croatia

  • June 25-29

Looking for a festival, summer holiday and beach experience all in one? Then Hideout Festival, in Croatia, needs to go straight to the top of your summer travel list. With a reputation for being one of wildest festivals, expect this electronic dance party to get a little out of control. This festival isn’t for the faint hearted!

 

4. Glastonbury Festival, UK

  • June 26-30 

Glastonbury is one of the largest music festivals in the world with the biggest names in music performing here! This epic five-day festival is home to music and arts performances that takes place near Pilton in Somerset, England. 

 

5. Coachella, USA

Coachella

  • April 13-22

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the most famous festivals in the world held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. This unique location in the Colorado Deserthas played host to some of the biggest singers and bands in the world. This summer Beyonce was the headliner and almost 200,000 brought tickets for Coachella which takes place over two weekends in April.

 

6. Benicàssim, Spain

  • July 19-22

The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim, commonly abbreviated to simply FIB, is an annual music festival which takes place in the town of Benicàssim, in the Valencian Community. The Benicàssim festival is one of biggest and most popular in Europe with previous headliners including Arctic Monkeys and this year Pearl Jam.

 

7. Electric Castle, Romania

  • July 18-22

If traveling around historic locations is your favourite past time, then Electric Castle in Romania would be your perfect festival destination this summer. This unique festival is surrounded by a beautiful historic castle, where a proportion of the ticket profits goes into the restoration of the castle itself. You’ll be helping out a good cause whilst partying hard!

 

8. Tomorrowland, Belgium

  • July 20-22, July 27-29

Who doesn’t love going to the themepark? Electronic music festival, TomorrowLand, has taken it one step futher and created an immense theme park festival, taking place over two weekends in July. This year’s theme is the Story of Planaxis, so be prepared for huge spectacles throughout the entire event - this festival isn’t one to miss.
