1. Glastonbury Festival, UK

2. Coachella, USA

The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is one of the most famous festivals in the world held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California.

This unique festival is one of the top things to do in California and has played host to some of the biggest singers and bands in the world with previous headliners including Beyonce.

Almost 200,000 tickets are available for Coachella every year which takes place over two weekends in April, but be quick, tickets usually sell out quick.

Download Festival is a mammouth rock music event, set in Donington Park, Leicestershire.

With three days of heavy rock and metal music, set across five stages, this iconic UK rock event will be a highlight for many fans in the UK and beyond.

With previous headliners being Avenged Sevenfold, Guns n’ Roses and Ozzy Osborne, it is no wonder it’s so popular with rockers.

 

4. Hideout Festival, Croatia

Are you looking for a festival, summer holiday and beach experience all in one? Then Hideout Festival, on the island of Pag, Croatia needs to go straight to the top of your summer travel list.

With a reputation for being one of wildest festivals, expect this electronic dance party to get a little out of control. This festival isn’t for the faint hearted!

Hideout is definately one of the most unique locations on our list and features 100 of the world's best artists together for five days and nights on a stunning beach.

5. Benicàssim, Spain

The Festival Internacional de Benicàssim, commonly abbreviated to simply FIB, is an annual music festival which takes place in the town of Benicàssim, in the Valencian Community.

The Benicàssim festival is one of the cheapest and most popular events in Europe with previous headliners including Arctic Monkeys and this year Pearl Jam.

Around 45,000 tickets are avaialable and this is also a great location to see some of the most beautiful beaches in Spain.

 

6. Governors Ball, New York

Located in the centre of the ‘Big Apple’, the Governors Ball in New York is one of the top contemporary urban music festivals in the world.

Previous headliners have included Jack White, Travis Scott and N.E.R.D.

Plenty of other big names set to play over the weekend. FYI if you are visiting, you have to go to The Nugget Spot – it’s the best place for fried chicken on site.

 

7. Electric Castle, Romania

If visiting historic locations is your favourite past time, then Electric Castle in Romania will be your perfect festival destination this summer.

This unique and lesser known festival is surrounded by a beautiful castle, where a proportion of the ticket profits goes into the restoration of the castle itself. You’ll be helping a good cause whilst partying hard!

8. Tomorrowland, Belgium

Who doesn’t love going to the themepark?

Electronic music festival, TomorrowLand, has taken it one step futher and created an immense theme park festival, taking place over two weekends in July.

Over 400,000 people attend every year making it one of the biggest music festivals on the planet.

Previous year’s themes have been the Story of Planaxis, so be prepared for huge spectacles throughout the entire event - this festival isn’t one to miss.
