As a volunteer on the project you will be part of an initiative to rescue and rehabilitate dogs that are living as strays on the streets. Conditions for animals in homes in Nepal are often poor, suffering from impoverished lifestyles and often abandoned or turned out onto the streets as they grow older.

Living on the streets, they become starved and their coats matted. With no one to care for them, they suffer from infected wounds and skin disorders, they pick up worms and parasites, become feeding grounds for agonising maggots and are often at risk of having to lose limbs.

Your role on the program will be key in providing aid and assistance to the team rescuing and rehabilitating the dogs, nurturing them back to a healthy condition so that they can be adopted into a new home. In its operation, the project counteracts the problem of rising numbers of dogs on the streets of Kathmandu, fending for themselves.

The project strives to achieve a loving home for them where they can enjoy the quality of life that they deserve.
