You will find that many schools across Latin America are equipped with a wide range of resources and that the children have a good understanding of basic English. As a Teaching volunteer, your role will be to fill in the gaps by helping the students to better their language skills, improve their pronunciation, and build their confidence to speak English.
You don't need to be a teacher to join one of our Teaching projects. We welcome volunteers of all backgrounds and levels of experience; there is no requirement for any qualification or experience. We offer a variety of opportunities to teach English (as well as other subjects) in both urban and more rural settings, including primary and secondary schools, community centres and universities.
In some destinations volunteers can choose to help out with other subjects and extra-curricular activities, such as music and sports. As well as teaching lessons, volunteers may assist with lesson planning and marking work.
We also welcome professionally qualified teachers for volunteering placements - this includes teaching English as well as other areas, such as maths, PE and special needs. These professional volunteering placements allow you to put your skills and expertise to the best use not only through teaching, but also through exchanging knowledge and ideas with local staff.
