The work carried out as part of this project is assisting refugees and migrants as soon as they arrive on the Italian coast - the 'first response' - as well as helping them to access services and support as they adjust to their new lives - the 'second response'.
We are currently welcoming volunteers to help with the vital work helping arrivals to settle into their new lives in Italy. Our volunteers have been helping out in a variety of different activities, and are encouraged to be proactive and resourceful whilst at their placement. Activities may include:
- Conducting English lessons
- Conducting lessons in other subjects, such as geography, maths and music
- Assisting with cultural workshops
- Helping with basic IT lessons
- Organising sports sessions and outings for children
- Promoting good hygiene and healthcare
