Volunteering on the Public Health project in the Philippines is a fantastic and rewarding experience and is also a great addition to your CV or university application. Whether you're a university hopeful, studying for a degree in medicine or healthcare, or a qualified medical practitioner you will have an important role to play.

The aim of this project is to improve standards of health through awareness, prevention and treatment. Non-communicable diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease and cancer, account for seven of the ten leading causes of death in the Philippines, often as a result of poor nutrition, smoking or drug / alcohol abuse. Volunteers on this project work alongside medical professionals to address this problem.

Volunteers will be involved in general health tests and screenings, such as checking blood pressure and BMI, as well as helping to provide education about general health issues to local communities.

We also have Public Health projects available in Belize, Cambodia, Ghana and Sri Lanka!
