These projects provide volunteers with international work experience whilst caring for those who really need your help. As a volunteer you will assist local therapists in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation centres across the developing world.
Whether you are a student at university or a trained professional, you will have an important role to play. Numbers of trained occupational therapists can be low in developing countries so the help of volunteers is very helpful to local staff and to patients.
Hospitals and health centres are often lacking the resources, knowledge and trained staff required to provide the appropriate care for patients. These placements are a challenging yet rewarding experience and tend to be suited best for volunteers who already have some experience working in the field of Occupational Therapy. We have a number of worthwhile placements across Asia and Africa treating all kinds of patients.
We also welcome professionally qualified occupational therapists for volunteering placements. These professional volunteering placements allow you to put your skills and expertise to the best use through assisting with the treatment of patients as well as exchanging knowledge and ideas with the local staff.
