Projects Abroad have placements at publications for those interested in print, radio and television!
Volunteers on our print journalism placement will work for a newspaper, where you have the chance to put together an impressive portfolio. Working in a busy newsroom, you will work to deadlines, conduct interviews and write articles. You will get an insider's view of how publications are run.
Those working at a radio station as part of their placement could find themselves on air on their first or second day! Volunteers may help produce a show, read the news, participate in debates and talk-shows, or go out on the streets to ask people for their views on specific topics.
Volunteers working at a television station will gain experience reporting, scripting, producing and editing programmes. There could be the possibility of presenting on live television or appearing as part of a discussion panel.
The aim of our journalism placements is to give volunteers an insight into the workings of the media in a new cultural and political setting. The work experience you gain will enhance your CV and increase your prospects within the highly competitive journalism industry.
