The mission of the Human Rights Office is to ultimately promote and protect the human rights of the people of Ghana. This is done through raising awareness of human rights issues, monitoring vulnerable areas, and resolving human rights abuses.
Volunteers are kept busy on this programme, carrying out work both in the office itself as well as through outreach in local communities. The placement can be hard work but is certainly very worthwhile and will provide you with a unique insight into human rights in Ghana.
The project is a great opportunity for university students or recent graduates; however we are happy to accept volunteers of all level of experience. Your role at the project will be determined by your previous experience as well as any areas of interest you have.
We also have Human Rights projects in Argentina, Cambodia, Jamaica, Mongolia, Senegal, South Africa, Tanzania and Togo!
