A community-based placement with Projects Abroad allows volunteers to become completely immersed in the local culture of some of the most interesting and unusual cultures in the world!

Projects Abroad offer a number of interesting and unusual placements which allow volunteers to live amongst local communities and get involved in many aspect of their lives.

There are a number of fantastic programmes to choose from, including:

  • Community Village Projects in Fiji, Samoa and Tanzania
  • Community Township Project in South Africa
  • Khmer Project in Cambodia
  • Maroon Community Project in Jamaica
  • Nomad Projects in Mongolia and Morocco

Volunteers will work together towards a common goal in preserving the ways of life in these communities. The people you meet will be just as enthusiastic to talk about your country as they are to teach you about theirs; offering you a first- hand experience. Whichever project you choose, you will experience an entirely different culture by living and working within a local community.

  • A deposit of £195 is required with your application. We will immediately acknowledge receipt of your application and deposit payment.

- All your food and accommodation
- Transfers to and from the airport
- Transport to and from your placement (where required)
