History

Jim, an American citizen and US Navy veteran, just after retiring, married a Peruvian lady and went with her to Peru to explore many of the places in that wonderful Country, eventually, he fell in love with Huancabamba, a small town in the eastern Andes, in the Oxapampa area, a mixture of fertile valleys, a wide variety of micro climates and a passionate community of coffee growers.

Jim moved there, and after 8 years is now seeing his dreams come true. As an active member of the community he is working pro-bono with his neighbors to get a fair price for their products, improving their quality of life and a better future for their families, while the fields thrive with wonderful and exquisite coffee.

Jim, affectionately called “Don Gringo” by the community, with sacrifice and effort, became an expert coffee grower and roastmaster; a new passion grew within him, and he keeps working hard to create awareness that in this little and special corner of the world, the best coffees are grown.
