For over four years now, Blue Door English has been welcoming refugees and asylum seekers through the door, offering them English language classes twice a week and a sense of community.

For many of our students, the difficult journey to Malta is only the first hurdle in their resettlement. Many of them have left everything they have owned, are dealing with trauma, and urgently need to find a way to survive.

The language barrier is one of these obstacles, and overcoming it can open the door to better integration, and increased opportunities.

Volunteering

We are looking for volunteers to teach English, and someone to help organise events, and do admin duties in the centre.

We couldn’t run our program without the dedication of our volunteers, and welcome all the support we can get. We are in need of English teachers, literacy teachers and anyone who can lend a hand.

Lessons run on Mondays and Thursdays from 6.15-7:45pm at St Andrews International Centre in Valletta. Please get in contact if you are interested in getting involved or would like more information.
