Go behind the scenes on a community-owned safari reserve and come face to face with Africa's 'Big 5' species - lions, cheetah, rhino, antelope and elephants.
South Africa's wildlife are under threat like never before. Facing a 'perfect storm' of the international poaching crisis, climate change and a growing human population.
As a volunteer on this groundbreaking conservation project, you’ll join the fight to save Africa's wildlife and help create a model ecosystem where people and wildlife live together harmoniously.
A conservation landmark
Right now, this project is working alongside the WWF to expand the range of the endangered black rhino. As a volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in this amazing story and support the reserve’s research team in managing a huge variety of wildlife - including some of Africa's largest populations of rhino and cheetahs.
Good for wildlife, good for people
Unlike other wildlife reserves, the land here is owned by the local community, many of whom are from the Zulu nation. This means you’ll be making a real difference not only to the future of Africa’s wildlife, but its rural people as well.
“The African Conservation Experience team ... have provided me with memories that will last a lifetime and an endless amount of stories that I will treasure forever.”
