I loved traveling with a broader view! It was nicely set up, and was a true humanitarian experience! We lived in the orphanage (I was with 1 friend) & were well taken care of. It was awesome to spend so much time with the kids. I wish we could have taken photos but I also understand privacy is important! Anyway I would totally travel with them again- it was well organized and good communication!
I volunteered with Abroaderview in may 2016 for 4.5 weeks just outside of Accra, Ghana. Abroaderview had everything arranged from where I would volunteer to where I would stay. I had an amazing time teaching English and math to the children. Living with a host family was complicated and took adjusting but once I was settled and feeling confident to go out on my own it was much better. If I were to recommend anything while volunteering abroad it would be to not let anyone run your trip for you, if you're feeling safe and confident then you can do what you want during your non volunteering time. It took me a while to remember this and therefore I spent a lot of time alone and in my room. The second half of my trip I felt much more connected to the people and culture.
