Marine conservation in Portugal

Company : Oyster Worldwide
Location : Lisbon
Duration: 1 week to 4 weeks
Approx Costs: 1000 to 2500 £ Pound (UK)

Dive 5 days per week to collect fishing nets, debris and plastics from the ocean bed near Lisbon. This project is vital to help rejuvenate the marine world - and noticeable changes have already been seen. If diving isn't enough of a draw, you will also be doing one diving qualification for each week that you stay on the project.

Complete daily dives with a team of passionate divers, helping to remove debris from the bottom of the ocean. This debris has largely been dumped by humans, and it is our responsibility to remove it. Each year, thousands of marine creatures are being killed by ocean debris.

Whilst you are on the project, you will be improving your diving skills. If you are new to diving, in your first week you will learn how to dive. In your second week, you will do the next stage of your diving qualifications alongside the project. If you already have a diving qualification, you will get stuck straight into the project and do the next level of your diving qualification in the first week.

You will be living in a lovely eco guest house in Lisbon. You will be sharing a room and have your food provided for you. There is a lovely terrace with yoga classes every other monring.
