Required for Employment

Applicants seeking employment at the International School of Kenya must have the following qualifications:

A. Mandatory for all applicants

* A minimum of a Bachelor's degree or its equivalent;
* An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophy, mission and goals of ISK.
* A satisfactory personnel record.
* An expressed commitment to devote time for extra-curricular activities beyond the normal teaching day.
* Evidence of work and attitude indicating an ongoing interest in improving and increasing knowledge and teaching skills.

B. For Teachers

* a recognized teaching certificate;
* a minimum of two years' relevant teaching experience within the last five years.

C. For Other Professionals

* A relevant certificate;
* A minimum of two years' relevant experience within the last five years.

D. Desirable but not mandatory

* A fifth year of formal preparation beyond the Bachelor's degree for elementary certificated employees.

Application Procedure

Applicants for teaching positions at ISK should forward a letter of application and basic CV to Ms. Ruth Obur, or alternatively indicate an interest through the International Schools Services, SEARCH Associates, ECIS, or The International Educator.

Applicants should be aware that those who have arranged for a personal interview in Kenya or through the agencies will be more likely to attain positions than those who have not had a personal interview. An ISK recruiter will attend the Search Associates Recruitment Fair in Cambridge, Mass and the ISS Recruitment Fair in San Francisco in February.
