Book a Silk Road Adventure Tour

The term ‘the Silk Road’ conjures up vivid imagery or deserted caravan towns, exotic markets and lengthy camel trains fighting across endless deserts and through unconquerable mountain passes. But what is it really like? Who actually lives in all those countries that end in ‘Stan’, and what do they do?

You can follow in the footsteps of the medieval traders who travelled through Central Asia on their way to Europe, taking with them not only spices, gems and, of course, silk, but also ideas, ways of life and beliefs.  The result, as you’ll find, is a part of the world that is rich in history and tradition, punctuated with incredible natural beauty and a culture that is as invigorating as it is confusing where warm hospitality mixes with the last remnants of Soviet bureaucracy.

Recommended Tour Operators

Few tour operators offer these types of expeditions as logistics can be difficult. This kind of trip can be affected by border closures, changes in visa requirements and impassable roads. For most people, this is all part of the experience and travel operater Oasis Overland who we highly recommended is proud to be able to offer this expedition to travellers who are looking for a truly adventurous journey.
