Working with the community, Warm Heart organizes projects that improve access to education, basic health services, jobs and sustainable incomes for the poorest people in the Phrao District of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

As a Warm Heart volunteer you will work with a small team of international volunteers and our Thai staff in a Thai organization and community in a very rural area of small villages. The work can prove difficult at times due to the many linguistic and cultural barriers that cross-cut our small organization. Warm Heart therefore requires a volunteer to have excellent interpersonal and diversity skills, patience, perseverance, flexibility and a hands-on approach.

Warm Heart welcomes people from around the world, regardless of age, gender, creed, religion, political orientation, or food preferences. A 3 month minimum commitment of 40 hours per a week (Monday-Friday) is required, but a longer commitment is much preferred. Warm Heart will be able to give you much more responsibility as a volunteer if we know that you are not just passing through.

Programs

These are the types of opportunities available:

Operations
As a small organization with varying projects and volunteers, we rely on organized, communicative professionals to ensure that things get done.

Marketing, PR & Communications
We depend on creative messaging experts to help us drive awareness, engagement and excitement around Warm Heart’s mission and fund raising initiatives.

Environmental Program
We need volunteers at our teaching farm to help us research and test new technologies; teach and implement sustainable agriculture practices within our farming communities.

Education
As English becomes more and more important to the future of Thailand, we depend on charismatic and creative teachers to help the kids at our Children’s Homes and in the Phrao community improve their fluency.

Public Health ‘Project Access’
In a community where the elderly and people with disabilities are more or less forgotten, our Public Health Team reaches out to address the needs of our community.
