We are inviting international volunteers to grow students’ English skills, confidence, and expand their horizons as global citizens, as well as create community impact while traveling.

SSIV is a project by Saturday School Foundation, a non-profit which aims to develop and unleash children’s potential, and create sustainable community development: we are working to grow students’ confidence in using English, and expand their horizons towards becoming global citizens.

The foundation was founded by a group of Bangkok-based educators who saw the urgency of Thailand’s education problems: for instance, our English proficiency is ranked one of the worst in the world. (Source:, EF English Proficiency Index 2018).

We believe that international volunteers will bring fresh new energy and perspectives for our students - to develop their confidence and expand their horizons! Join us to teach, give, and grow this June!

Program Details:

Dates:

8-20th June

Schedule:

8-9th June: Training with local educators and change-makers, and other international volunteers.

10-14th June: Teach in a public school, under the supervision of Saturday School team. The program will create learning opportunities for both volunteers and students, allowing for dynamic relational opportunities, culture and knowledge exchange, and increased foreign language competency and self-confidence in students.

15th June: One free day for any exploring of your choosing!

16th-20th June: Traveling in Bangkok's old town. Volunteers will taking part in activities alongside locals in the community. We have partnered with local social enterprise to target small, local businesses that need help. Volunteers will act as consultants for these businesses: you will innovate and prototype ideas, and pitch these ideas to our committee to ensure sustainability. These ideas will inspire local businesses to revamp themselves, and in turn boosts the local economy.
