Formed back in 2001 by two Australian mates and one of China's top climbers, Chinaclimb was staffed by a multi-national team who were passionate about adventure.

What was Chinaclimb?

Chinaclimb was China's leading rock climbing company. As well as this, Chinaclimb was one of China's biggest adventure and outdoor excursions company. Catering from individuals to large groups, Chinaclimb provided fully managed excursions or guiding services for a range of activities throughout China. Chinaclimb was the market leader and the first choice of international schools for providing outdoor adventure and educational trips in China. Our clients ranged from schools, corporate, families (private groups) and individual travellers.

Why did customers choose Chinaclimb?

Shopping for reliable providers over the Internet is not easy. But Chinaclimb’s people and its customers believed it is the best guide and tour provider in the region. Here are some values we hold to prove why.

No fuss, all fun: Our guides were carefully and personally chosen to ensure that the whole team adhered to a number of guiding principals – each has deep experience in responsible guiding coupled with a passion for sharing the outdoors; each had a youthful joie de vivre to match that of our clients; and each was inquisitive and resourceful in keeping with the demands of the rugged environment.

Intensive attitude towards to safety and professionalism:
Chinaclimb maintained international levels of service and safety and is the only guiding operation endorsed by the Chinese Mountaineering Association and allied with several European UIAGM and North American AMGA guides. Chinaclimb has years of experience in multi-activity outdoor education and is the only service provider in the region that employs international outdoor educators. With experienced Chinese and foreign guides, and a professional procedures policy and risk management plan, we were arguably the most thorough company in China. To ensure our guides were up to date with the latest skills and knowledge, international instructors were flown in to instruct in areas of guiding and first aid.

Unique track record with trip management: Chinaclimb was unique in its track record in designing and managing exciting and educational outings for large groups. Experience gained through leading thousands of customers set Chinaclimb apart from other service providers. Athletic, cultural and exciting, with unrivalled opportunities for leadership growth and team building, our trips were designed for you.

Cost effective administration: Chinaclimb as recognised as the first and leading professional guiding operation in the region. Our local reputation, contacts and purchasing power guarantee that we wweere able to obtain the best deals to pass on to you. In addition, Chinaclimb provided one point of contact for accountability and billing.

Continual improving quality: Trips were customised to suit your goals and meticulously planned to ensure that trips were stress-free, all enjoyment experience. This commitment to quality started with clearly assessing requirements prior to, and providing clear and open feedback channels during and after trips. By providing a single point of contact that one person manages and is responsible from the start till completion.

Community development: In addition to our rock climbing operations, Chinaclimb was actively involved in the local community in various ways including route development, environmental education, safety instruction, training local staff, fostering industry standards and promoting Yangshuo. We loved Yangshuo and our local community, and wanted to see everyone prosper in a way that promotes long term harmony. While that may sound rhetoric, and it often is, in Chinaclimb's case we are making a contribution right now.

Where we were based - The Lizard Lounge, Yangshuo

Chinaclimb's worldwide base was a converted barber shop in Yangshuo which we named the Lizard Lounge. Located in the central pedestrian area of town, The Lizard Lounge was a full-service centre providing food and beverage, tunes and an indoor bouldering wall for all. The lounge served as a venue for groups when hosting schools and converts to a lounge for relaxation and meeting point for climbers and travellers alike. Yangshuo has been popular with backpackers and other travellers for twenty years. Based in Guangxi, the town is fast becoming China's adventure sport capital. Yangshuo is about 90 minutes drive from Guilin, which itself is about 90 minutes flight northwest of Hong Kong.

Chinaclimb are no longer operating.
