Back when we began in 1960, our main focus was to get youth involved in missions. Today, we still focus on youth, and we also involve people aged 9 to 90. We currently have tens of thousands of staff (called “YWAMers”) and we work in thousands of teams and locations.

One of the joys of participating in YWAM is to work with people from many nations. YWAM’s staff come from nearly every country in the world, including places like Indonesia, Nepal, Mozambique, and Colombia.

Medical Missions in Australia and Papua New Guinea

Our Medical Missions Gap Year calls those whose hearts beat to see justice prevail, diseases eradicated, and communities transformed!

Be trained and equipped as a health care worker for developing nation communities and work hand in hand with our Medical Ship in Papua New Guinea - equipped with an onboard dentistry clinic, day procedure unit, laboratory and patrol boats ready to transport primary health care, health education and optometry teams to isolated communities.  During your Medial Missions Gap Year you will have the opportunity to support the work of the ship through land based healthcare related outreaches.

In addition to the hands-on opportunities and skills you'll gain during the Medical Missions Gap Year, you will also have an opportunity to develop your faith, make life-long friends, and encounter God in a way you never have before. If you're ready to meet real needs, bring hope, and see your life transformed in the process - the YWAM Medical Missions Gap Year is for you!

Our Medical Missions program is for those who:
