Through our 355 innovative medical programmes and evidence-based advocacy initiatives, we enable excluded individuals and their communities to access health and fight for universal access to healthcare.

Work in France

With 180 employees at our headquarters and 95 working at various programmes in France, Doctors of the World offers numerous opportunities to join its team. MdM regularly hires staff to coordinate national and international operations, work with beneficiaries in the field, carry out advocacy efforts or provide all the support functions essential to a smoothly functioning organisation. Would you like to get involved?

Internships

Doctors of the World is committed to helping young people enter the workforce. Each year, more than 100 students work as interns at our headquarters, regional offices or various programmes in France. Internships provide a good opportunity to learn about the organisation’s wide variety of occupations and activities. We make every effort to give them meaningful assignments so that they can gain the skills and knowledge necessary to receive their diploma, in compliance with the objectives of their educational institution.

Work Abroad

About 100 expatriates of all nationalities, both medical and non-medical, work in Doctors of the World programmes abroad. MdM ensures the highest level of security for its teams, including ongoing analysis of the situations in which its programmes operate, development of security and evacuation protocols, and staff monitoring and training.

Any person over the age of legal majority can work abroad up to the age of 75. Expatriates’ status takes one of two forms: employee under French law or International Solidarity Volunteer (under contract; VSI in French).

Volunteer

Every year, more than 2,000 volunteers show their commitment to Doctors of the World by devoting their skills, motivation and time to the organisation. Any person over the age of 16, whether employed or not and regardless of medical skills, can become a volunteer.

These volunteers mainly work in France. You may, however, be able to volunteer for one of our international programmes if you live in the country where it is located.

To be effective, it is best to volunteer and be available on a regular basis (depending on the nature of your work, plan on several hours during the day or evening).

Speaking a foreign language can be a real asset in the performance of your work. We can pay for some of your travel and meal expenses.
