We are a vibrant welcome center that provides legal, wellness and education services, advocates for systemic change, and facilitates cross-cultural community building. Our vision is of a shared society where all people are welcomed and valued, and enjoy equal opportunities and protections.

Jobs

Our staff of twenty-five bring enthusiasm and a commitment to our mission and to the work they do at the Center. We work – and sometimes play – as a team. Our generous benefits package includes our “Staff Day Out”, a day off to enjoy fun activities together, 14 holidays, 20 vacation days and 5 sick days. Health benefits are offered to anyone working 20 hours per week or more.

Internships & Volunteering

Join us at the IIIC for the unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of immigrants and to gain an appreciation for diverse cultures while being part of an organization strongly rooted in its Irish culture!

Volunteers contribute hundreds of hours every year impacting the lives and livelihood of their communities.  Whether you can contribute five hours of your time each year or five hours each day, that is five hours that our clients would not otherwise have.  We need you.

With a multitude of Programs and Departments there are a range of different opportunities available, such as:

  • Reception
  • Welcoming and assisting guests at our legal clinics
  • Teaching and tutoring English to newcomers
  • Helping immigrants prepare for citizenship
  • Program assistance (legal, wellness, education, learning exchanges) and other engaging and meaningful opportunities

All positions offer a wonderful opportunity for someone interested in immigration or social justice to become part of a team of people dedicated to helping newcomers to this country. Volunteering or interning with us can also provide a great opportunity to learn new skills, meet other people, gain valuable job experience and have fun!

We are happy to work with students as interns in exchange for credit.

Interns also have the opportunity to work with other departments such as counseling, advocacy, legal services, and media relations, as well as assisting with events, legal clinics, and marketing.

Interns (and volunteers) complete an orientation followed by one-on-one training in their respective department. Internships can last for 3+ months depending on availability and time of year. Time commitment is usually 16-24 hours a week.

Please consider volunteering to help us welcome and assist newcomers and immigrants!
