Our vision is that all older people should retain their independence, dignity and peace of mind. We offer high quality residential and nursing care in 16 care homes, some with dementia units.

We support older people to stay living in their own homes with a range of community services including welfare and grant giving for those in financial need, day clubs, home support, home visiting and telebefriending.

At Friends of the Elderly we have a dedicated, professional team who are committed to supporting and enhancing the quality of life for older people.

Working for Friends of the Elderly is both challenging and rewarding and in order to continue providing quality care, we need caring, committed, dedicated people.

Could you help us deliver person-centred care? Joining us would give you the opportunity to make a valuable contribution to helping ensure older people have dignity, choice and peace of mind.

Join our team and help make a real difference to the lives of older people.

Friends of the Elderly is a significant and expanding charity, providing residential and nursing care for older people and support for those living in their own homes with a range of community services and welfare grants.

Volunteering

With a little help from our friends?

So much of what we do at Friends of the Elderly is about our team of volunteers

Some join support groups for individual care homes, or work alongside staff in our day clubs while many give an hour a week to our home visiting service. Our newest team of volunteers provide friendly calls and a listening ear as part of our Telebefriending service.
