International Opportunities:
ARC accepts volunteers/interns for positions at our overseas locations. A volunteer/intern should be available for a minimum of four months, but ideally 6 months. Volunteers/interns generally must be partially self-funded. This means that you must be able to cover the cost of travel to and from the country where you work. You must also cover the cost of, and provide proof of health insurance for the duration of your assignment. Some past volunteers have been able to cover these costs through sponsorship from a community organization or an academic grant.

ARC can usually provide group housing and a small living expense stipend. We seek individuals for our overseas volunteer and internship opportunities that are able to provide a specific skill. Some of our overseas assignments also require the ability to speak French. While we appreciate the generosity of individuals who are willing to volunteer their time providing basic assistance (handing out food, preparing materials for distribution, basic office work), we often hire refugees in the countries where we are working to carry out these important jobs. This provides an income to a family who is greatly in need.

Headquarters Opportunities:
ARC also accepts volunteers/interns for positions at its headquarters office in Minneapolis, MN. Headquarters volunteers/interns can work part time or full time. Although ARC cannot pay its volunteers or interns, they can gain valuable experience related to international humanitarian relief. Some past volunteers have been able to receive credit for their internship, a stipend through sponsorship from a community organization or an academic grant. Volunteer/Intern positions may become available in International Operations, Human Resources, Finance, and Development/Communications.

How to apply:
If you wish to apply for a volunteer/intern position, be sure to note the dates of your availability.
