Abbey Road Programs

Founded by Stanford alumni in 2000, Abbey Road’s study abroad summer programs continue to deliver excellence.

Our mission is to provide quality academic summer programs that facilitate cross-cultural understanding, personal growth and academic enrichment. Abbey Road was created through a collaboration of the best young professionals and educators from top schools and esteemed institutions. Our curriculum developers and staff come from places such as Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Duke, Cambridge, La Sorbonne, the United Nations, the World Bank, the European Parliament and the State Department  …..  just to name a few.

For almost 20 years we have shared life-changing experiences with thousands of students from across the United States and the entire world. Our students pursued various academic interests and artistic talents, learned foreign languages and discovered new cultures, prepared for the college years and made many lifelong friendships. Our programs are designed to give them unique, individual experiences, let them learn in a fun, interactive manner, and above all, give each and every one of our students our personal attention and assure their safety.

Our summer programs in Europe and North America will take you on an exciting adventure! You will see some of the most beautiful places in the world, experience new cultures and gain knowledge to expand your horizons and prepare you for your upcoming college years.

Our summer programs are open to American and international high school students who have a genuine interest in exploring foreign languages, cultures and other academic subjects such as studio art, art history, literature, film, environmental studies, pre-college and test prep programs, and more. We are looking for open-minded young people who want to experience a new way of life, and who are mature enough to do it in a safe and responsible manner. Our students are academically motivated, and they have a broad range of interests in the arts, athletics, social activities, and travel. Students ages 14-18 are eligible, from mature eighth graders to graduating high school seniors.

Whether you are learning art history in Florence, the Flamenco in Cádiz, or proudly perfecting your French conversational skills, you will enjoy countless moments that will create memories to last a lifetime. Our emphasis on personal attention to detail, coupled with an unyielding commitment to excellence above all else, is what gives Abbey Road Programs an advantage. We go to great lengths to provide an authentic and deep learning experience, along with fun and lasting friendships. Our alumni stay in touch with each other, and with us, year after year.

Abbey Road Programs Reviews

Supervision is too minimal for teens in a foreign country.

After a depressing Covid year, I wanted my daughter to have an enriching experience to lift her spirits. She was instead surrounded by privileged kids sent from wealthy families who viewed this as a vacation and a chance to meet other wealthy kids. The director even confirmed his frustration that these are the typical kids that come. In a country where the legal drinking age is 16, be aware that they can and likely will engage in drinking and that the staff will take no responsibility for that. Only after I paid my deposit did I receive the documents explaining that drinking was available in this country and it would be up to my student to obey the rule to not drink. The students do not honor that. Three days before her program started, there was a situation with students not just drinking but getting drunk. I wanted to cancel the trip but I had invested so much money! The director assured me they would be very very careful and supervise closely. Instead, there was more drinking, second chances for offenders, and excuses from the director and staff. I’m devastated that I sent my daughter to that environment.
