Established in 2001, Kivu Gap Year worked with 20,000 teenagers and young adults through summer camping, international trips, and gap year programs.

Kivu Gap Year equiped young leaders in a culturally diverse and globally connected world. They were an accredited member of the gap year asssociation with a proven commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality and integrity.

Kivu Gap Year was designed to guide you into a year of travel, internship, and home stay experiences around the world. It was a purposeful program designed to guide you on the journey into young adulthood.

Kivu Gap Year had the aim of returning participants to college with confidence in who ther were, offering direction for educational goals, and a renewed purpose for all the challenges ahead!

No Regrets

This program has changed my life forever! I did the Kivu Gap Year straight out of high school in 2014 and it was EXACTLY what I needed to grow emotionally and spiritually! It opened my eyes to new perspectives of life and I truly gained so much from it. Things have changed now from when I did it but it’s so worth getting in contact with those who run it and asking questions! I don’t regret Kivu Gap Year one bit!!!!!

If you were to dream far beyond your imagination of a year filled with wonderful journeys, beautiful people, and music beyond belief, you would have dreamt Kivu. It showed me the beauty of humanity; the good, the bad, and the ugly. It shaped me into being a less naive and more well rounded person. It helped cultivate my passions and gave me the opportunity to see a side of the world that I have not yet seen. It shaped life long friendships and formed unforgettable memories. Kivu is a visionary gap year and it was a privilege to be a part of.

KIVU Gap Year is Amazing!!

KIVU Gap Year definitely changed my life for the better. It pushed me in my faith in such a healthy way and it provided me with a lifetime of experiences I will never forget. KIVU Gap year also gave me my lifelong best friend and the motivation to graduate college in just 3 years. I am forever grateful for the hardwork the Braners put in as well as Luke and all of the KIVU leaders. I love them all!
