There are a hundred reasons why Palawan is considered a great location, but these are, we believe, the top five reasons why Palawan is the best destination in the Philippines.

1. Spotless Beaches

You can’t travel to the Philippines and simply skip the beach. If there is one thing Palawan is renowned for, it’s her line-up of pristine beaches.

With the number of islands and islets the place has, there is always an unspoiled coastline for you to explore. You want some privacy in your trip? The place has a number of secluded shorelines than you can escape to.

These shores are made up of fine-powdery sands hemmed in by the clear blue-green waters. The location is surrounded by shadowy palm trees and lush rainforests. These flawless coastlines are truly images carved out from a postcard.

2. Mystical Lagoons & Lakes

Other than the exquisite beaches, more reasons to love Palawan are the mystical lagoons and lakes, whose beauty will surely take your breath away.

These locations are simply magical. They are wrapped in tranquility; being situated in a secluded area, away from the noisy crowd and the bustling city noises. The massive limestone rocks serve as barriers, giving it a more sequestered ambience.

The waters in the lagoon are delightful to watch, with their bright turquoise hues that glisten as they meet the sunbeams. Sail on boat to these peaceful areas and get a most relaxing experience!

3. Superb Diving Experience

As fascinating as the terrains of Palawan are, there are also tales to be discovered with its underwater sceneries. The island has some of the best diving spots in the Philippines.

Divers from all over the world journey to the island to explore its amazing underwater haven. The historical ruins of the World War II shipwrecks in Coron is one of the most popular diving spot in the island.

In addition, the waters of Palawan are packed with rich marine life, exhibited by its vibrant corals and mesmerizing schools of fishes.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River, for instance, is a protected area that holds the title as one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

The park is nestled within a limestone karst mountain landscape. It is dubbed as the longest navigable underground river in the world, winding beneath a mountain range, through the St. Paul Underground River Cave, and out into the South China Sea. The passage through the cave is 24 kilometers long.

Being a National Park, the Underground River also holds over a thousand various species of flora-and-fauna, including those species endemic to Palawan. The attraction houses more than 800 plant species, 195 kinds of birds, 30 mammals and several reptiles and bat species living in this protected site.
