Gap Year in United Arab Emirates

Dream of spending your gap year in the UAE? Search trips, ideas and programs in popular places like Dubai and Abhu Dhabi. The UAE has a warm climate all year round which makes it a very appealing country. This destination has changed a lot in a short time, only 40 years ago it was a small fishing village but now it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world.

Accommodation

You can find accommodation ranging from budget to some of the most luxurious hotels in the world. The worlds most luxurious hotels is located in Dubai - Burj Al Arab which boasts over 200 luxury suites, 6 restaurants and even a helipad. A visit to see the impressive Burj Khalifa building is also a highlight, this is the worlds highest building and is double the size of the Empire State Building in New York. We also recommend a visit to the Dubai Mall which is the largest and most visited shopping destination in the world.

Laws & Safety Advice

This is not the case and it is extremely important that you do your research before you travel! A city that we often hear about in the news is Dubai and those reports on offences weren’t at all exaggerated. Sex outside marriage is definitely illegal, and if you’re found out you run the risk of prosecution, imprisonment and/or a fine. Don’t think you can get away with it by conducting your affairs behind closed doors either. It’s also illegal to live, or share a hotel room, with someone of the opposite sex to whom you are not married or closely related. Whilst some laws are pretty obvious, and quite frankly fall within common sense, it’s the more obscure ones that you may find yourself caught out by.
