A Gap Year (or Semester) is a valuable opportunity for students before or after university to explore their interests and widen their experience. It is also an opportunity to think about study and career choices for the future.
Oxford International Study Centre is able to arrange tailor-made programmes for Gap Year Students. These take place in Oxford, itself an inspiring and culturally fascinating city, with some of the best teachers in the world. We also work with overseas partner schools and organisations in Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Europe. We can arrange for students to be placed in schools as language assistants in these countries and/or to take part in a customised travel itinerary.
Programmes in Oxford include:
Other programmes are also available and students are asked to mail for further information, sending details of their interests and plans.
A social and cultural programme runs throughout the year, and daily in July and August. This is an opportunity for Gap Year Students to meet students from all over the world who are taking programmes at OISC.
It is also possible for students to (re)take exams as part of their gap year, eg ALevels, GCSE, IB, Oxford and Cambridge University preparation, and the preparation for these exams can take place alongside other gap year courses or projects.
We can also help students find paid or voluntary work in Oxford alongside their programme.
Since the gap year programmes are designed individually for each student fees vary enormously. If you would like an estimate please email us with further information about your plans.

Good school record and proof of enthusiasm to follow this inspiring and challenging programme
