3 Alternative Places to Add to Your Travel Bucket List

The last year has seen many of us miss out on a large number of travel opportunities. Where we would normally be able to just hop on a plane and explore different places, we have been very much confined to our own countries.

While this has meant we’ve been able to make the most of staycations and explore where we live, it also had a lot of us dreaming of the day that we can explore new destinations. We have been adding new places to our travel lists, dreaming of the days that we can once again explore overseas.

We have put together a quick guide to some unique places that you need to add to your travel list that you might not have thought about visiting before. These places won't be swamped with tourists as they are lesser known than some of the more famous destinations like Rome, New York and Paris for example.

1. Genoa, Italy

Genoa in Italy is a real unspoilt spot of paradise in Italy. It is the capital of northwest Italy's Liguria region. and is most known for its role in maritime trade. There are many stunning spots here to explore and it is relatively untouched by tourists unlike many of its neighbouring towns and cities.

When you head here you will be getting an authentic Italian experience with beautiful restaurants that serve local, freshly made pizzas and pasta and local wines that will be some of the best you will ever eat in your life. Be sure to sample the focaccia and pesto for which the city is most known.

Visit popular tourist attractions such as the waterfront and museum. It is also great if you are getting a cruise as a lot of ships stop here. If you are getting a cruise, why not tag on a few days beforehand to spend in Genoa?

2. Scottsdale, Arizona

Scottsdale in Arizona is a beautiful spot that will exceed your expectations each and every time. With year-round sunshine, a thriving foodie scene and plenty of things to do, you will be spoilt for choice on activities when you come here. Stay in one of their many luxury hotels with a pool if you are after a reprieve from the sun and be sure to dine in the many restaurants on offer.
