If you are looking for valuable hands-on medical experience, there are possibilities in the hospitals in Arusha. As a medical intern, you will also be able to work at rural health posts and community clinics. Participants spend the majority of their internship working as an assistant to a doctor/healthcare professional. Work responsibilities vary with your education, skills, and previous experience. Interns interested in joining this internship must have health care certification, such as an ID as a medical student, EMT or paramedic certification, or nursing or physician's credentials.

Projects Abroad offer medical outreach voluntary work in Ghana and you can get involved to help Ivorian Refugees in Ghana, West Africa. Over 2000 refugees have been registered in the Western Region of Ghana in the past month. However, up to 20,000 more are expected to arrive as the political crisis worsens in the Ivory Coast.

Travel to West Africa and volunteer in Ghana. Projects-Abroad volunteers in Ghana had a busy time recently. Last Monday was Ghana Independence Day but instead of joining the rest of the country in having a day off, our volunteers participated in a health walk. They walked en masse from our office to the Osu Children's Home delivering donations. They then engaged in exercises and games with the children and brought smiles to the staff and children alike.
