Atlas Volunteers is a grass roots volunteering organisation in semi rural Ghana providing low cost, meaningful volunteer placements.
We created Atlas in 2017 to remove the business element out of some volunteering organisations. We aim to provide high social impact volunteering opportunities at low cost.
We are ran by a mixture of British and Ghanaian staff who met whilst in various volunteering roles and fell in love with the local area.
Working with the local community and stakeholders we aim to provide a long and lasting social impact, developing the local communities little by little, one step at a time.
Volunteers live in a shared volunteer house with their colleagues and most people leave with new friends for life. The house overlooks the surrounding mountains and forest to offer the perfect relaxing point for your free time at weekends and afternoons.
We offer volunteering placements focusing on Education, Sports and Community Renovation. Places are available throughout the year.
You can arrive any day or date, you will fly into Kotoka International Airport in Accra and we can arrange an airport collection to meet you and bring you straight to the volunteer house.
We take helping hands from 2 weeks although our education projects are a 4 week minimum to ensure a high level of social impact for both yourself and the children.
$65 per week and includes accommodation, on site support staff, utility bills and welcome orientation.
We have roles across the following areas:
Education - School Support, Reading Clubs, English & Maths Tutoring, French Teacher.
Renovation - Painting and Building Construction.
Eco Protection - Reforestation, Plastic Recycling and Community Farming.
Sports - PE Teacher & Academy Assistant Coach.
