2012 Silk Road Adventure Tour: Turkey to China
Oasis Overland, specialist in offering truly intrepid exploratory journeys to the adventure traveller is excited to announce the launch of a one-off expedition along the Silk Road. Starting in June 2012, the Exploratory Silk Road Expedition includes routes that are new to the company and will consist of two overland vehicles, one for a film crew who will document the journey and one for travellers who may find themselves on Japanese TV!
The professional Japanese film crew will record the expedition’s progress along ancient trading routes and through some of the oldest cities in the world steeped in history and legend, from Troy and Esfahan to Samarkand and the Great Wall. Oasis Overland’s custom built expedition trucks will carry cinematographers and travellers who have a hands-on involvement in the trip, shopping at local markets and cooking for the group. Each truck will be accompanied by an Oasis Overland driver and tour leader.

Few operators offer this expedition as logistics can be difficult. This kind of trip can be affected by border closures, changes in visa requirements and impassable roads.
