Volunteer with Baboons and Monkeys in Africa

Work and volunteer with animals in Africa. Monkeys and baboons are brought to Oyster Worldwide's centre in all sorts of devastating conditions – some are in need of medical care and some just need a lot of love – which is where volunteers come in. The centre’s main aim is to build the confidence of these innately cheeky characters and integrate them into families so they are never alone when back in the wild.

For Angel and her baby, born just 4 days ago on the 30th of July, their release into the wild will be a particularly special and important experience as the newborn will learn to fend for himself and will be brought up in his natural habitat. He will therefore be independent of human interaction and rehabilitative care - this is a fantastic prospect.

The baboons will be released throughout September, so if you adore these cuddly animals and want to get involved in volunteering with them, now is the best time to apply with Oyster for this project from 2 weeks to as long as you like. You will not only take part in the daily tasks of feeding, monitoring and caring but will also have the unique and moving opportunity to help give Angel and 23 other baboons the happiness they deserve.

This is truly a ‘once’ in a lifetime experience, something that will touch your heart and remain as a very special memory for the rest of your life!
