SHAD are looking for people who:
• would like to develop their knowledge of working with people with disabilities
• are available for 4-12 months
• enjoy working with people and have good communication skills
• speak a good level of conversational English
• are flexible, responsible and reliable
• are open minded with a commitment to equal opportunities
• want to understand the concept of independent living
• Can start immediately or in the future

SHAD offer:
• rent free (shared) accommodation with all utility bills and council tax paid
• a monthly living allowance of £260
• travel expenses to projects
• first aid, manual handling and wheelchair skills training
• generous time off and opportunities for cover shifts
• a chance to gain experience and meet new people

Working with SHAD is a great opportunity for individuals wishing to gain work experience, particularly those wishing to gain hands on practical experience and insight into the world of disability. It would also suit students on summer vacation or a gap year and graduates wishing to gain work experience.
