A Guide to Working in Africa

Ever thought about working abroad? Consider Africa as your destination. There are jobs for foreigners throughout the continent in places like South Africa, Kenya, Tanzania, Morocco and Egypt. Most internationals find work with international companies in tourism, but there are lots of different industries available for example working as a in-country charity/development aid organisation or working as a scuba diving instructor. Please note this is a developing continent and to find paid work in some countries can be difficult.

Some people apply to join Intern programs in Africa as some companies offer paid positions on completion. If you are looking for a rewarding experience there are also lots of volunteer work in Africa but these are generally unpaid. You could book a FGASA course and then find work as a tour or safari guide throughout the continent. Another popular option for internationals is to take a TEFL certification course and then apply for teaching jobs in Africa which can be found at language schools and universities.
