Yebo Afrika

Come to South Africa and experience the complete African Adventure! With Yebo Afrika you will help support and interact with a rural community whilst at the same time learn to surf, learn to take photographs, go on game drives and horse ride on the beach? This really is the ultimate gap year trip.

So what or who is Yebo Afrika?
Yebo Afrika is the ultimate experience in what has become known as a “Working Holiday” or “Eco-Tourism”!

Michelle, Theo and Trevor all run their own individual businesses and tours and over the years have all worked closely with the local communities around St Lucia, South Africa. They have now decided to join forces and combine their experiences and passions to offer you this incredible opportunity.

So what makes Yebo Afrika unique to other working holiday experiences?
The community you will be supporting and interacting with is Theo’s home village, Nkundusi. This is where he grew up and he understands the complexities and challenges of village life. His dream has been to help his community to learn about the positive aspects of tourism and conservation and to provide you with a true experience of Zulu life in today’s world. His village is 14-kms along a gravel road from the main highway and the majority of the community do not have the opportunity to meet and communicate with neither foreign travellers nor visitors from other areas of South Africa. Your help and time will impact this community in so many positive ways.

In addition, what else makes Yebo Afrika so different is that many working holiday experiences are exactly that, you come away on a trip and work 24/7 in a local community, whilst this is an extremely rewarding and challenging experience, Africa has so much else to offer, so why not combine this experience with some fabulous fun activities.

During your time with Yebo Afrika you will enjoy:

•interacting with and supporting Nkundusi Village, a rural, local community, playing and teaching the kids and making an impact in their daily lives

•learning to surf on our breath-taking coastline

•capturing stunning photographs of wildlife, landscapes and community life

•spectacular game drives, sunsets and sunrises

•horse-riding on the beach and in the bush

•playing with cheetah

•having close encounters with St Lucia’s friendly hippo population

•making some everlasting friendships with your fellow travellers and going home with memories that will stay with you forever...
